About IEF

Investor Education Fund (IEF) develops and promotes unbiased, independent financial information, programs and tools to help consumers make better financial and investing decisions. It was established as a non-profit organization by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and is funded by settlements and fines from OSC enforcement proceedings.

Unbiased financial information

IEF’s mission is to help Canadians make smarter financial decisions every day, by providing unbiased information that is easy to use.

IEF content, tools and programs are developed based on research that reveals what Canadians know about money and investing, and how they want to learn. Our content is written by independent subject matter experts, and we are always working to improve it.

Recent research

Seven in 10 Ontario high school students think that learning to manage money is important, but only 4 in 10 feel they are prepared to manage their finances after high school.
